August fun!

The first bit of fun was Kai's weighted assessment for science - practical test!

So fun. Haha! Heard from the parents that there was a deck on this in SLS so I dug it out to go through with him. Of course he had done it in school as well but hello, revision!

Second bit of fun was his Chinese weighted assessment. Not the revision but the marks. His teacher counted wrongly and gave him one fewer mark. Told him to tell his teacher but it was National Day celebration the next day. The following week, he forgot all about it and refused to do it when I asked or let me email his teacher. Grrr...

Let's move on to real fun :p

We took this photo to see how tall the tree would be when Yang grows up :)

Yu does old-school things!

He saw me dunk biscuits in my coffee and wanted to do the same so I made milo for him. He loves to do this in the morning now!

Made scones for the first time and Yang liked it! For five minutes...!

From the eyes of the baby :)

Brought them to the National Museum on 13 August. I didn't want to tell them where we were going until the very last minute coz Kai would think it was boring. And of course he complained! But by the time we left, he admitted he was wrong - it was kind of fun :)

Lunch first - burger coz the kids' menu isn't too nice

They had fun running to and fro under the swinging chandeliers

There's a bear!

Ok, my job hazard, haha!

Tried to engage them on Singapore's history as we walked through the exhibitions. They were not interested in everything but some held their attention, e.g. rickshaw, end of WWII, opium den (?!). We actually spent some 90 minutes in there!

Yang must pose :)

Wefie time!

Awww...

But nope, he wasn't sleeping, and his brother didn't sayang him... Haha, I wish!

My sleeping burrito!

Kai enjoyed Sito's comics and was surprised to find Chinese inside too :)

We resumed swimming lessons, so happy! And now Yu is more confident and realises that he no longer needs his puddle jumper when playing in the waddling pool. They have moved from arm movements to leg movements, which are more difficult.

Yaya papaya look!

This year, NDP is held on 21 August. Brought them to the pool to play and stayed in for dinner - KFC! Would this become an annual ritual for us? :)

Watching the PM arriving

Kai and Yang fetched Yu with me one day

Love it when they're reading on their own!

Those Real Pigeons books are wonderful - they can even learn to draw the pigeons :)

Kai's

Yang's - he drew a lot of stuff!

Yu's

On the last day of August, Yang had a follow-up appointment after his A&E trip on National Day. I took PM leave and had a piece of cake at the new Coffee Bean while waiting for school dismissal. After I got them, we went to 7-11 for lunch - yes, very sad coz no time for la mian downstairs. But their burger is quite nice! Kai always chose the burger. Yang decided on a sad strawberry jam bun instead *.*

They finished their food at the bus stop. Kai decided to wait two more minutes for the bus home instead of changing to the MRT. Yang and I left first.

He went home on his own!

Well, not the first time :p But the first time with permission. Time to teach him to do more things on his own.

Anyway, it took us a while to get to NUH - the kids clinic is quite far from the MRT station! But it was all quite smooth and we were out with medicine and another appointment quite quickly. The doctor said no refined carbs - no biscuits, no white bread. Yang will get only a packet of milk for little bites from now :(

Fell asleep on the taxi home

Two days of medicine later, he pooped a big one today, woohoo!
