School family day

The school doesn't do Mothers' Day or Fathers' Day celebrations. But they organised a family day on 21 August. We took morning leave for this, a little apprehensive about us two handling them three...

Happy Yu!

The bus journey was way longer than expected. Yu was climbing all over me - so tiring! Had a walk a distance when we got to Hort Park, which wasn't easy coz Yu - 'nuff said.

Laid out our picnic mat and dug in for the food while waiting for the morning to start.

Yu bit into an apply - and spat it out coz of the skin

Yang had more success with his apple but he didn't finish it too

Kai was in a different bus. When he finally arrived, his teacher told me that he puked twice on the bus. Poor boy was quite carsick! :(

Replacing his breakfast

Yu was roaming during the demo and was rope in to demo!

And again!

After the demo, the games started! But it was very hot. We played a few games following the assigned class slots and then gave up and just roamed with the kids.

Kai preparing for the human wheelbarrow!

Yang with tower of Hanoi

Yu also wanted to do the wheelbarrow!

When it was time for picnic, we had little food left haha! But the boys were roaming quite happily. Eventually they settled near our mat so we sat around some. It was VERY hot.

Family photo!

Kai missing? No, he was hiding. He is 6 going on 16.... Better make sure I get enough pictures of Yang and Yu!

As expected, the boys fell asleep on the bus back to school, which took a fraction of the one hour we too on the way out.

Yu falling asleep while snacking!!

Out!

Out too. Though Kai claimed to be awake...

Yu's "earmark" on my arm when I switched arms :)

I couldn't honestly say I enjoyed it coz it was so hot and so tiring! But I thanked the principal for the efforts on the bus. In fact, I think I should write to thank her - this evening, Kai and Yang had a good time doing the wheelbarrow. Yu wanted to do it too. And later, I found Kai and Yang stepping on three pieces of paper to move from one end of the living room to the other, and then crushing the paper to do paper toss - all games played at the family day!
