The week of food before Christmas

I realised that many photos these days are of Yu. Perhaps he's the smallest. Perhaps he's the cutest of them three at this point in time. Coz he's the smallest. Haha!

Baby drinking soup out of a bowl about the width of his face

While watching TV?? Can't remember...

These days, he would wear underwear over diapers sometimes!

And he insisted on wearing pants by himself, with some success

The only boy to fully utilise this $60 toy

So I had a lazy start to the weekend, as documented by Kai or Yang!!

Probably Yang coz he was the better photographer! He did a cool shot under the drying rack!

The said cool shot. Perhaps the mama is biased :p

Kai finished his half udon and some tempura for dinner - I was happy!

Yang had three tamago sushi and a chawanmushi - I see potential there for Japanese food! Yu didn't want the tamago and split out the rice. His potential is in meat - he had a lot of my katsu! We figured that there was no point getting kids' meal coz they didn't eat half of it! Better to order regular stuff and share among them.

My baby finished his cone shortly after Yang - not bad! But we killed a lot of trees...

Both boys had no drips, yeah! But Yang's kissed the wall *.*

What Papa was doing...

... while Mama was happily snapping pictures!

Decided to bring the boys out for breakfast today. We were a little bit early for Yakun but someone was in the queue! So I told them to play scissors paper stone while I went to queue too - kiasu but I know my boys are impatient! And sure enough, they soon followed me to the queue.

Bored with playing after a short while..

Food came quickly coz we were the first to order toast! I ordered three sets of toast and a set of steamed bread. I had all the steamed bread and half a slice of toast. Yu had half of a half slice of toast. Kai and Yang finished the rest!!!

Toast and Milo are likely their fave breakfast food

"Not for me... Except the Milo!"

By then Yu had pooped! And he was running about the seating area and the nearby ATM area.

Got Kai to watch Yu...

... while I sat with Yang - he usually eats quite slowly...

I must pat myself on the back for handling three for a meal all on my own - achievement unlocked, yeah!! I considered bringing them grocery shopping but since Yu pooped, I had my excuse to do it on my own :p

We also had our first coffeeshop dinner on our own, no helper :) Our nearest coffeeshop has good food and a playground where the boys had fun while Sito got the food. The boys with their matching shirts drew attention from the coffeeshop staff. The boys were cute too :p

Kai wiping his hands while Papa was telling Yang to finish his noodles

Food aside, we also managed quite a bit of active time this weekend. The boys biked - they have new bikes! - and scooted and swam besides going to the playground.

They went to the deep pool today!

Yang didn't have alone time and the coach forgot his shirt so no pictures of Yang in the deep pool...

Papa and Yu had fun too!

A moment of brotherly love, awww...

Once swimming lesson started, I dashed upstairs to get my first butter cake out of the oven. My mixture seemed to have curdled or it was just not creamy coz I used coarse sugar and no electric mixer?? It was also cooked earlier than expected and cracked and too brown.

But it was yummy!!!!!

Our snack in bed just now :p

Oops, I circled back to food :p I'm planning to cook for Christmas this time. Feeling a little lazy now and may skip the roast chicken, especially since I saw only kampung chicken at the supermarket today.. I need a fat chick!

Preparing for P1

We learnt about the date of Kai's P1 orientation near the time of registration - 2 Nov. That was one day before our scheduled Taiwan trip - super lucky!

But little did I know that P1 orientation was more for the parents than for the child!

We started the afternoon with lunch at Macs!

Papa fixing the toy for Kai

I didn't expect it but Kai didn't want us to drop him off at the classroom. After a while, I learnt that he was afraid there would be work. We had to assure him that there was no work that day before he would stay in the classroom. Wonder how it would be like for first day of school...!

Sito and I then went to a hall for the briefing - it was mainly admin but at least the child emcees were cute. The outgoing principal spent some time talking about mother tongue, assuring parents that their kids didn't really suck that bad at Chinese, which was pretty hilarious :p

When we picked Kai up, he showed us a paper balloon happily, which was a relief. Then we went to settle the practical matters at the canteen - ordered uniforms, signed up for the school bus, bought a box of books, and went home.

He loves running down slopes!

Tired enough to nap on the cab home

The school bus personnel called me on 15 Nov - two days before we were scheduled to meet in school - to confirm details of his bus so there was no need for me to go yeah!

Got a letter from the school on 4 Dec informing us of Kai's class, house and form teachers. Strange that there will be two form teachers. Anyway, there was also a card from his form teachers to welcome Kai to the school and the class!

Next step - call the bus to inform them of Kai's class! Some days later, I got an SMS to log in details online. I supposed that was settled but realised that we don't know the bus number yet, hmmm...

It's also time for a haircut. Due to rain etc, since K Cuts is across the road, we only managed the haircut on 15 Dec.

With a new K Cuts opening downstairs, no need to wait in future! Unless it's more ex...?

I had a little panic attack when I pulled out his uniforms to be washed the week after I collected them. I couldn't find the corporate tee that was in the receipt! While waiting for the dentist, I called the shop and learnt that it would be given out in school later, phew!

Kai now has a little cabinet dedicated to school stuff. Don't think he's aware of its existence or purpose yet but I suppose I'll have to give him an induction soon! School starts in nine days!

Health and dental admin day

My yearly do. Went back to the doctor back at Holland coz I'm not so keen to see an unfamiliar doctor downstairs for PAP smear *.*

Missed walking down this path and looking up to home

But it's no longer home. I always feel a little sad when I think about it. It is after all our first matrimonial home and housed all our little ones in their infancy.

Took a shot of this quiet road which fills with seats at night

Doctor pointed out my slightly high BMI but noted that it was alright coz it was due to cosmetic fats, not visceral fats. She told me some cardio would sort me out. Sighs, no time!!

I had an ang kueh and some coffee while waiting for Sito to join me at Holland to do some banking - it's the best place when you have to transfer money between the usual banks!

And then we went to Plaza Sing to look at Starhub plans. But the ticket number was dismal and I found that his corporate plan discount was comparable to no discount at M1. So we walked about a bit and left for lunch at Clarke Quay. Then it was quite a wait to see the dentist coz we were early.

Eat some Hokkaido milk ice cream ba!

At 1 plus, Sito got an SMS - his Starhub queue was still ongoing! It would have been a 3- or 4-hour wait! Crazy!

Came home to set up our new plant shelf - pictures next time! - and he went on to do some work while I did random things. Then it was kiddy time!

Quite a tiring off day for us, largely due to the waiting at Clarke Quay. Time to plan the next off day!

Day out with Yang

It was Yang's turn to go out yesterday, and also Sito's turn! We took some time to decide on the Luge at Sentosa but as things turned out, they did far more than that.

The boy insisted on sunglasses

Snacking on Papa's breakfast

And seemed like he enjoyed it!

Not bad for Sito for feeding Yang twice - this and wantan noodles for lunch later - considering that he had all of one piece of tissue paper with him and no wet wipes! I reminded him about bag and bottle but forgot about the cleaning materials, oops... But, good job!

Coz they passed by Madame Tussauds and Yang wanted to go in  $80 for two!!

His expression pretty much the whole time...

Spent some time on this game

And this, complete with canned cheering when the ball went in!

Finally they got to the Luge and sky ride!

Papa and pup

Lounging about at Vivocity

Sito texted me at 2 pm asking me about getting a foosball table. I thought he was online shopping at home. Turned out that he was at Toy R Us with Yang! In the end, he got a Lego set. Yet another Christmas present for the kids to play together :)

So this was the result which started in the taxi home :p

So proud of Sito for hanging out alone with Yang for so long! I'm not sure I can do such a long time hoho! And there was no meltdown at all - so proud of Yang too :)

Sito told me at 5.30 pm that he was still napping, from 3.30 pm. Got him to wake him! When I got home, he was watching TV, freshly showered and with dinner in his belly :)

I only got to enjoy the photos today, and also heard stories from Sito. Best was when Sito was queuing up for bubble tea and Yang was in his arms. A guy joined the lady right in front of them. Yang whispered - LOUDLY - to Sito that the boy was naughty coz he cheated! The man turned back to explain to Yang!! AND, Yang whispered the same to Sito again!! When I told Yang that I heard about this, he couldn't remember until I said "cut queue", and he said, then the girl laughed!!

What a joy :)

Brotherly love

The boys fight. Sometimes, they shed blood. But when they are getting along, it's really sweet to witness.

Kai reading a book to his brothers one morning

Kai carrying his burrito of a brother, thanks to N

Just ending a hug

A peck on the botak head

A number of such photos featured Yu. Usually it's Kai showing affection to Yu. The hug on the train today was rare between Yang and Yu.

Maybe coz he's this cute??! :)

The two older boys can play well together too

And this is my fave - all three playing QUIETLY together!

Productive night

I was very pissed last night coz the boys refused to sleep. I shall leave the details for another day. Point is, I came out close to 10 pm, cold and tired and angry. So I hid in my blanket and closed my eyes.

Then it was 1.30 am.

!!!!

Both Yang and Yu were in our bed. I shifted a little, got out to pee, and got back to bed. Couldn't sleep so got up to organise things - I thought I might as well do it then than to do it in the morning when I should be spending time with the kids.

So I sorted out part of the book shelves and took pictures of Kai and Yu's work from school; Yang didn't bring home any recently. In the morning, I asked them about their work.

Kai made this soon after the concert :)

He also made a 3D card - so nice!

Hilarious! From a book, apparently

The child goes to school while the mother flies somewhere...

This worried me! But Kai said it was just funny *.*

Upon linking the two pictures together, I felt a bit better. The child was thinking of flying off too so was sad in school!!

Yu said, "Baa baa black sheep!"

Found the crayon from Taiwan!

Yang woke in between so I had to lie down with him for a bit. Eventually, I went back to bed at 3 plus but I took a while before I fell asleep. I think it was quite productive actually. Don't mind doing it again!
